Memory verse:

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: 10 I shall be anointed with fresh oil. 11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. 12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; 15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” – Psa. 92:1,10-15.

A good understanding of thanksgiving is vital for every believer who will make the best of his kingdom life (Psa. 119:144; Pro. 21:16). What is thanksgiving? It is ascribing the glory back to God as the one behind the good things in our lives (Psa. 29:1-2). Every moment a believer engages in thanksgiving, he reminds God of what remains to be done on his matters (Php. 4:6-7). This invokes God to work making every pending promise of Scripture in the individual’s life come to pass speedily (Psa. 65:5-7).

The Power of Thanksgiving.

  1. Thanksgiving Engenders Answer to Prayers.

We serve a prayer answering God, who takes delight in satisfying every desire of His children (Mat. 21:22; Jn. 16:23-24). The following scriptural understanding is vital to enjoy answered prayer.

  • We serve a covenant keeping God – He is bound to His word when a believer fulfills his part of the covenant (2Pet. 1:19-20; Deu. 18:21-22).
  • Thanksgiving gives a believer audience with God to secure answers to one’s prayer (1Ths. 5:18; Php. 4:6).

Jesus is Lord!
