Memory verse:
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – 1Ths. 5:18.
We belong to a kingdom that promises great things and inheritances Acts 20:32; 2Pet. 1:4. Our access to the great promises is doing the will of God, and scripture identifies this to be giving of thanks 1Ths. 5:18; Heb. 10:36. Doing the will of makes a believer unshakable no matter the situation, which is vital to take delivery of God’s blessings Jms. 1: 6-7; Gen. 49:4. This means, we must make giving of thanks our lifestyle in order for us to maximize our privileges as kingdom members.
The Power of Thanksgiving in Turning Concerns to Testimonies.
- The Example of Jehoshaphat.
Jehoshaphat was the king of Judah, a small nation, which was besieged by three stronger nations in battle 2Chr. 20:1-3. Jehoshaphat and all Judah were so intimated that they cried to God saying they did not know what to do 2Chr. 20:12. Prophetically, they resulted into doing God’s will for every situation, as they engaged in praise, the result was supernatural victory over the three nations 2Chr. 20:22-24.
- Thanksgiving Silences Every Enemy.
We have an enemy whose ministry is to go about seeking whom he may devour 1Pet. 5:8. His name is Satan, he has his agents that carries out his work of destroying or robbing individuals of their blessing Jn. 10:10. Scripture shows us that thanksgiving is the covenant way to silence the enemy in our life Psa. 92:1-2,11.
