Memory verse:
“And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them
that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be
few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.”
- Jer. 30:19.
Scriptures make us to understand that the church of Christ is ordained for supernatural and continuous growth Pro. 4:18; Matt. 16:18. We also understand that God is the builder of His church, though the pastor and members have their covenant responsibilities. But it is God’s input that ultimately results in the growth of the church Heb. 13:4; 1Cor. 3:6. Thanksgiving and praise are forces that have the guarantee to get God to work, and they are the cheapest way to move God to build His church for growth Jer. 30:19.
The church has known the way of prayer and fasting for growth; and we have too many churches engaging in prayer but not experiencing growth. It is time for this secret of thanksgiving and praise to be explored, which has the guarantee to always secure God’s intervention any time, any day. What is in thanksgiving and praise that will result in church growth? This has been our focus in our teachings this week. I believe God that today’s teaching shall shed great light on your life.
The Power of Thanksgiving for the Growth of the Church.
- Thanksgiving commits God to increase His church 1Cor. 3:6; Jn. 6:44.
We serve the God of increase, who has ordained His church and children for continuous increase in life Pro. 4:18. As we engage in thanksgiving, we move God to deliver His agenda of increase in the church.
- Thanksgiving commits God to send His angels to work on His church Psa. 103:20.
Angels are ministering spirits, they excel in strength, and attend to God’s word to see it come to fulfilment. Thanksgiving is indirectly reminding God of His word, thereby putting the angels to work to see it come to pass. God’s word says I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail, this is what we move the angels to deliver in thanksgiving.
- Thanksgiving commits God to level all invisible barriers against the growth of the church 2Chr. 20:22-24; Psa. 68:1-2.
In thanksgiving and praise we stir God up, and this results in the clearing off the barriers, oppositions and enemies to the growth of the church. In essence, only the things that can withstand God will remain standing against the church, when we engage in thanksgiving and praise unto God for the church.
We have said it that any church can growth, and I mean explosive order of growth. All it takes is for the people to commit God through their explosive thanksgiving and praise. This month, there shall be strange dimension of growth in this assembly like we have never seen before.
