Memory verse:
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” – 1Jn. 5:14-15.
The will of God for His children is to answer every prayer made by them Mat. 7:7-8. Scripture makes it clear that whatever a true child of God ask in prayer believing, He is committed to answering Mat. 21:22; Mk. 11:2. Further, Scripture shows us that our God has the capacity to make anything we ask in prayer happen Mk. 10:27; Jer. 32:17,27. This implies that what we do not have is what we have not asked or asked amiss Jms. 4:2.
Demands for Guaranteed Answers to Believers’ Prayer.
- Get Rid of Sin.
Sin is the reason why a person’s voice won’t be heard by God when he prays Psa. 66:18-19. Sin disconnects a believer from God, thereby denying him access to God in the place of prayer Isa. 59:1-2.
- Forgiveness is the Scriptural Way to Deal with Sin.
Forgiveness is not to be assumed, but genuinely sought after because it is the gateway to answered prayers. We seek forgiveness as we acknowledge, confess, and forsake the sin in our lives Pro. 28:13; Psa. 51:10-12.
- Forgiveness Makes Righteous.
Forgiveness does not only remove sin; it takes away all unrighteousness 1Jn. 1:8-10; Ezk. 18:20-22. This makes us stand before God as if we have never committed any sin before 2Cor. 5:21.
