Memory verse:
“So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, 43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. 44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. 45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaen was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. 46 And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” – 1Kgs. 18:42-46.
God’s plan and purpose for every person was settled before we were born (Jer. 29:11). Salvation is our access into this predetermined purpose for our lives (Rms. 8:29-30). But there is the enemy whose mission is to oppose every plan of God, and each person has the responsibility to resist (Jms. 4:7). The prayer platform is ordained for clearing all satanic barriers off our path (Mat. 17:20-21). Scripture states clearly that expectation is fundamental to making prayer deliver results (Pro. 23:18).
The Power of Prayer Backed Up with Expectation.
- Example of Elijah.
Elijah prayed answer-expectant prayer; there had been no rain for 3 years, and no sign of one. He prayed and kept his servant checking (expectation). Heaven could not hold back but to give rain against all odds (1Kgs. 18:42-46; Jms. 5:17-18).
- Expectation Makes Desires to Answer in Prayer.
We serve a praying answering God, who is quick to answer Jn. 16:23-24. Our expectation must be in place for our prayers to be answered Jms. 1:6-7.
Therefore, we must keep thinking the reality of our expectations for our prayer altar to consistently deliver desired result Pro. 23:7; Dan. 3:10-28.
