We belong to a kingdom of blessings, and the blessing guarantees the greatness of every kingdom member Gal. 3:13-14; Mat. 5:13-14. It is also a kingdom of responsibilities, and embracing the kingdom responsibilities is what triggers the blessing on the believer Deu. 28:1-14. The major responsibilities of the kingdom is commitment to kingdom advancement or church growth Mat. 6:33. The demand of kingdom advancement or church growth is centered on prayer investment Ezk. 36:37. God’s designed His church for unending growth, but it is the prayer of believers that will actualize it Isa. 66:7-8. This is why prayer is the life-wire of every growing church.
The power of prayer for church growth.
- By prayer we engage the God of increase for church growth.
Church growth is a function of God at work, without God increasing His church efforts of men will be futile 1Cor. 3:6; Psa. 127:1-2. And it takes prayer to get God at work towards the growth of the church Psa. 2:8; Ezk. 36:37.
- Whatever cannot stop the church from praying cannot stop the church from growing.
The altar of prayer is the altar of fire 1Kgs. 18:37-38. The fire of God is the answer to the forces of darkness that oppose church growth Mat. 16:18; Heb. 12:29. In essence, as the church keep engaging in prayer, she keeps generating the fire that keeps the gates of hell off, resulting in the continuous growth of the church.
- Any church that sustains praying kingdom advancement prayer can take any territory for Christ any time.
The more the church engages in kingdom advancement focused prayer, the more intense the fire of God is released on the assembly Acts 2:1-3. The more intense the fire on a church becomes, the wider the impact, influence and effect on the environment Acts 2:3-6,46-47. In essence, as the church keeps at kingdom advancement prayer, the entire territory begins to answer to her.
