Memory verse:
“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” – Lk. 9:28-29.
Scripture states categorically that what we don’t have is what we have not asked for Jn. 16:23-24; Jms. 4:2-3. This implies that prayer is one kingdom provision that guarantees the delivery of every need and desire of believers. In God’s kingdom, our understanding determines our outcome in everything Mat. 13:23; Psa. 119::144. For prayer to deliver maximally, we must understand that prayer must first change us before it can change our situation Gen. 32:24-28. Each of us must expect to return transformed at the end of the ongoing 21-day prayer and fasting.
Scriptural Example of An Individual with Amazing Testimony from a Prayer Life.
- Jacob.
Jacob was the second son of Isaac, and the grandson of Abraham Gen. 25:23-26. Jacob had to go into exile from his father’s house, to live with Laban his maternal uncle to escape the wrath of his brother for collecting the blessing meant for him Gen. 27:41-45. He was ill-treated by his uncle, which resulted in his return to his father’s house where his enraged brother was still waiting Gen. 31:2-3, 32:3-8. This desperate situation turned Jacob into a prayer warrior, as he engaged the prayer altar and would not let go until God blessed him Gen. 32:24-28. He returned with a change of name, not just answers to prayer Gen. 32:28.
