Memory verse:

“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.”                     – Lk. 9:28-29.

Prayer has capacity to deliver far beyond what we see in the lives of average believers today. I believe the reason for this is the level of understanding of the average believer on prayer Pro. 13:15; Psa. 119:144. Scripture teaches that prayer does not only change things; essentially, it is meant to change people Exo. 34:27-35. This is what makes the prayer altar known as the altar of transformation Lk. 9:28-35. Until prayer first changes the person, it cannot change their situation. Every individual in Scripture who underwent transformation through prayer first had their person changed by prayer Heb. 6:12.

Scriptural Example of An Individual with Amazing testimony from a Prayer Life.

  1. Abraham.

Abraham met with God at the age of 75 years with nothing, he committed himself to follow and serve this God Gen. 11:29:31; Gen. 12:4, One major way he served was in prayer; Abraham was a passionate intercessor 18:17-33; Psa. 105:42. Scripture recorded transformations in Abraham; his body was re-invigorated supernaturally. He had a child at 100 years of age, contrary to medical science’s verdict Gen. 21:4-5; Rms. 4:16-24. He undertook a 3-day trek with climbing a mountain at the age of 114 Gen. 22:15. The impact was the transformation of his story from a nobody into a trans-generational blessing Gen. 24:1; Gal. 3:13-14.
