Memory verse:
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.” – Deu. 28:1-2.
We belong to a kingdom of blessing; salvation by faith in Jesus Christ initiates a person into the blessing dimension of life (Gal. 3:13-14). God’s blessing is all that is required for life on earth to be successful, great, and glorious (Pro. 10:22). We established this week from scripture that access to God’s blessing is obedience; the choice to walk in obedience therefore is believers’ secret to success in life (Deu. 28:1-2). Some in church miss out here because they are full of activities, but disobedient in many things.
Scriptural Helps for Obedience to God’s Word.
- Understand that Every Breakthrough is Rooted in Obedience.
Breakthrough involves the power of God at work to clear the obstacle to progress (Psa. 114:1-7). Obedience is a trigger to God’s power; this is why every supernatural breakthrough testimony is rooted in obedience (Gen. 26:1-14; Lk. 5:3-8).
- The Example of the Host at the Wedding in Cana of Galilee.
The wine finished at this prestigious wedding, a signal of shame. But the host of the wedding did not have to struggle, but got the sweetest wine through simple obedience to Jesus’ instruction (Jn. 2:4-11).
- Obedience Guarantees Supernatural Supplies.
The greatest challenge of many in life is supply of their needs (Mat. 6:25-32). Supernatural supplies answer to obedience (Mat. 17:17; Lk. 22:35).
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, I make the choice for obedience to every instruction of God; empower my choice by your Spirit for life (Deu. 30:19).
Action.
Begin to take steps in direction of obedience to God in all sides of life.
