Memory verse:
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.” – Deu. 28:1-2.
The commandment to obey God and His word is absolutely to the benefit of believers (2Tim. 3:16-17). This is because the obedience of a believer is the trigger for God’s blessing on his life (Deu. 28:1-2). This means that the level of each person’s obedience determines the dimension of God’s blessing he walks in (Jms. 1:25). This is what makes the difference between believers; why it seems God is partial; it is because our obedience is what fundamentally determines our outcome as individuals.
Scriptural Helps for Obedience to God’s Word.
- Understand that Obedience is Either Total or Fake.
There is nothing like partial or half obedience in this kingdom (1Sam. 15:13-20). An individual is either in obedience or disobedience; when the obedience is not total, it is disobedience (2Cor. 10:3-6).
- The Example of Naaman.
Naaman was a top Syrian soldier with great resume, but was a leper (2Kgs. 5:1-2). He was given a prophetic instruction to dip in River Jordan 7 times to be made whole, he obeyed, and at the 7th dip he came out cleansed of leprosy (2Kgs. 5:9-14; Lk. 4:25-27).
- Obedience Invokes Divine Manifestation.
Scripture shows clearly that God will always manifest Himself to the obedient (Mat. 22:36-40; Rms. 8:28).
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, I make the choice for obedience to every instruction of God; empower my choice by your Spirit for life (Deu. 30:19).
Action.
Demand the Holy Spirit to strengthen your obedience to God.
Priestly Blessings.
I rebuke the spirit of disobedience in your life and I cast it out now!
Receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit for obedience to God from now!
