God’s blessing is all that is needed for life on earth to be great and glorious (Pro. 10:22). Everyone who desires success in life has one thing; to labor for God’s blessing; anything done in the contrary leads to struggle, hardship, and failure. God’s blessing is freely available, but accessibility comes at a cost. Every blessing of God is in response to our obedience (Deu. 28:1-2; Jn. 2:5). Obedience may be costly, but the end result is always priceless (Psa. 50:5; 126:1-6).
Scriptural Helps for Obedience to God’s Word.
- Understand that Life’s Manual is the Bible.
The Bible is not just a religious text, but a practical manual for profitable living (2Tim. 3:16-17). Walking by the dictates of the Bible invokes God’s blessing on an individual (Heb. 4:2; Jos. 1:8).
- The Example of Abraham.
Abraham at 75 years was more of a failure, but met with God (Gen. 12:1-3). Abraham’s obedience to God continually, and particularly in sacrificing Isaac brought him under a sworn blessing that covers his generations after him (Gen. 22:16-18).
- Every Obedience is a Test.
Every demand of God’s word is a test for a believer, and passing this act of obedience is essential Jn. 21:5-6. This qualifies the believer for a change of level.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, I make the choice for obedience to every instruction of God; empower my choice by your Spirit for life (Deu. 30:19).
Action.
Make a commitment to obey every instruction of God from now.
Priestly Blessings.
Receive fresh empowerment of the Holy Spirit for a life of obedience!
Obedience to God shall be a delight to you from now on!
