Memory verse:
“Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” – Lk. 14:16-23.
Everything in life works by a principle, the church inclusive Jos. 1:8. A fundamental principle for the growth of the church is that members must be on the go for Christ Lk. 14:16-23. This is because the church grows by people making a commitment of their lives to Christ and becoming planted in the church to grow in their faith Acts 2:37-38,41,47. The commitment to Christ is popularly known as being born again Jn. 3:3-5. This ordinarily would not happen except someone goes to convince them Rms. 10:14-15.
Growing the Church by Being on the Go for Christ.
- Believers must Commit to ‘Come and See’.
It was by someone speaking to another about Jesus that made Him popular and gathered multitudes when He was physically on the earth Jn. 1:40-42,45-49; 4:29,39. This is the ‘Come and See’ concept, it guarantees church growth Acts 5:42.
- Engaging Intensely the Prayer Altar.
Every aspect of church growth requires prayers for delivery Isa. 66:7-8. This means that for the ‘Come and See’ engagement to produce growth, there must be intense prayer engagement by believers Gal. 4:19; Col. 4:12.
