Memory verse:
“And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves..” – Mk. 11:17.
Believers are designed to be the house of prayer; where prayer has become the breath of his life Lk. 18:1; 1Ths. 5:17. Scripture makes us to understand the focus of the believer’s prayer is ordained to be God’s kingdom Mat. 6:9-10. This is why kingdom advancement prayer is every believer’s responsibility. This means believers who will make the most of kingdom life must adopt kingdom advancement prayer as a lifestyle 1Tim. 2:8.
Scriptural Example of Giants made through the Lifestyle of Prayer.
- Nehemiah.
Nehemiah was a Jew taken to Babylon as war captive, who became a steward in the king’s palace Neh. 1:1-3. His duty was that of a cupbearer, which is a job that only people with no relevance, whose death is of no consequence are engaged Neh. 2:1. He was given to a life of prayer and emerged Judah’s governor Neh. 2:4-10; 5:14.
What Are We to Pray?
- To Grow in our Love for God.
Love for God is what establishes believer’s as true disciples of Christ Jn. 13:34-35. It is the strongest kingdom force that establishes the dominion of believers, and makes all things to work Rms. 8:28,35-39. Also, the love of God empowers believers’ commitment to kingdom service, in and out of season SOS 8:6-7; Jn. 21:15-17.
From scripture, we understand that the love of God makes our labor to be remembered by God always, which makes it to attract rewards Heb. 6:10; Neh. 5:14.
