Memory verse:
“And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. 17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.” – Lk. 19:15-16.
Life in God’s kingdom is largely defined by the understanding of each person (Psa. 119:144). Lack of understanding or inadequacy is behind the struggle and frustration of many in the kingdom (Pro. 21:16). For instance, God will never demand from us what He has not released the grace on us to do (Jdg. 6:14; 1Jn. 5:3). This implies that our obedience or disobedience to any commandment of scripture is absolutely a matter of our choice (Mat. 21:28-31; Deu. 28:1). Our choice to produce abiding fruit in the kingdom is vital to experiencing our due rewards (Jn. 15:16),
Scriptural Understanding that Empowers for Delivery of Results.
- God Responds to Results Produced.
Each person’s result, not just participation, in a task determines God’s response; the parable of talents exemplifies this (Lk. 13:6-9; 19:13-19).
- God’s Reward is in Response to Harvest Gathered.
The souls saved, gathered into church, and eventually established in the faith are what move God to reward us, and not just contacts made (Jn. 4:35-36).
- God Rewards Individuals Only.
Scripture states clearly that God does not reward groups, but individuals by their engagement (1Cor. 3:8).
