Faith will always produce good report no matter how bad the situation Heb. 11:2. One good report of faith is healing, health, and wholeness, particularly when it is violent faith Mat. 9:27-29; Mk. 2:5-10; Lk. 8:44-48; Acts 14:8-10. Examples include Hezekiah (Isa. 38:1-5), woman with the issue of blood (Lk. 8:40-48), blind Bartimaeus (Mk. 10:46-52), Canaanite woman’s daughter (Mat. 15:21-28). We therefore need an understanding of what true faith is, and how to make faith work and deliver Ecc. 10:15.
What is Faith?
- Faith is a Living Force Drawn from the Living Word to Produce Living Proofs.
Faith is a spiritual force with physical impact; when it lacks this, it is fake Lk. 8:40-48.
- Faith is Putting God’s Word to Work Believing.
Faith is work; not for lazy people who sit waiting for things to happen Jms. 2:14-24,26. The work is to engage with the demands of Scripture for one’s desired testimony Jn. 2:5-11; Lk. 5:3-8.
- Faith is Sharing Responsibility with God in the Light of Scripture in order to Have One’s Desires Delivered.
This means that true faith places responsibility of Scripture for our desires on the shoulders of each believer Jn. 9:1-8; 21:5-6. ‘The faith that makes God absolutely responsible for one’s desired testimony is an irresponsible or fake faith’ – Bishop David Oyedepo.
How Powerful is Faith?
- Faith Has Capacity to quench All Fiery Darts of the Devil.
No weapon of the devil can survive where Bible faith is at work Eph. 6:16; Dan. 3:14-18.
- Faith Secures Fulfillment of Prophecy.
Faith invokes God’s hand into situations for performance of whatever His mouth has spoken Lk. 1:45; 53:1; 1Kgs. 6:15,24.
- Faith is An Ever-Proof Producing Force.
At the instance of faith, supernatural force is triggered, which makes great things to happen in the life of the individual Heb. 11:1-3; Jn. 10:37.
How to Keep Our Faith Growing.
- Through Prayer and Fasting.
We pray and fast to access revelation or spiritual understanding, which is essential for growth of faith Isa. 58:6-8; Rms. 10:17; 1Cor. 2:10-13.
- Through a Living Hope.
In the absence of hope, faith dies Ecc. 9:4; Pro. 13:12. This means that one must keep their hope alive for their faith to keep growing Rms. 4:18-21; 1Pet. 1:3.
Faith for Healing and Body Restoration.
Faith is obeying God to prove one’s belief, which moves God to perform His promise. One of the prescriptions for our healing is THE HOLY COMMUNION Jer. 8:20-22; Jn. 8:53-54. The communion is a kingdom mystery ordained to secure healing, health, and wholeness of the redeemed in his spirit, soul, and mind 1Cor. 11:23-30; Jn. 6:48-58.
What is in the Holy Communion that Makes for Healing?
The Holy Communion is a mystery meal made up of the bread that is the Flesh, and the drink that is the Blood Mat. 26:28-29; Jn. 6:48-58.
What is in the Flesh?
- The Rod of God.
The bread in the communion is likened to the Rod of God that swallowed the rods of the magicians in our body Exo. 7:11; Isa. 11:1; Mat. 15:16.
- The Miracle Meal.
The flesh in the Communion is likened to the ‘miracle meal’ that neutralizes all forms of poisons in our body, to establish our health and wholeness 2Kgs. 4:39-41; Mk. 18:17-18.
- The New Testament Manna.
It is the New Testament manna that destroys all forms of weakness and feebleness Deu. 8:3; Psa. 105:37; Jn. 6:58.
- Eye Opening Miracle.
We encounter eye opening miracles in the bread 2Cor. 4:4; Acts 20:32; Lk. 24:16,30-31.
What is in the Blood?
- The Dominion Nature of Christ.
This is immune to sickness and disease Lev. 17:11; Jn. 6:54; Php. 2:9-11.
- The Same Blood Group of Christ.
Through redemption, we share the same blood group with Christ, which we renew at the Communion; this empowers us for dominion over sickness and disease Jn. 6:55; Mat. 26:27-28.
- The ‘White Blood Corpuscles’.
The blood is likened to the ‘white blood corpuscles’ in the human body that defend our body against any assault of sickness and disease 1Cor. 11:26; Jn. 6:53-56.
Conclusion.
Life is a function of responsibility Deu. 28:1. Faith is the responsibility that defines the experience of each believer, no matter what anyone says or does.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, in the name of Jesus, empower me by the Holy Spirit for the 21 days of prayer and Father, empower me by Your Spirit to give myself to the responsibilities of building faith, enabling me to command breakthroughs throughout this year 9:23.
