To see this become fulfilled, we need the help of the Holy Spirit as individuals Zch. 4:6; Jn. 15:5. This is why an understanding of the Holy Spirit and how He communicates His help is vital for believers who desires to fulfill destiny Psa. 119:144; Pro. 21:16.

Understanding the Holy Spirit; Who He is and How He Helps.

  1. The Holy Spirit Empowers Believers for Enthronement.

We are redeemed to reign as kings and priests on the earth Rev. 5:9-10; 1Pet. 2:9. Scripture states clearly that wisdom is a principal and non-negotiable requirement for ascent to the throne and to reign in life Pro. 8:15-16. We have three (3) basic channels of access to the wisdom from above They are:

  1. i)

Christ is the wisdom and power of God; hence salvation makes God’s wisdom to indwell us 1Cor 1:24. This makes wisdom the birthright of every true child of God Mat. 11:19.

  1. ii) The Word of God.

The word of God (Bible) is God’s wisdom bank Pro. 2:6-7; Lk. 11:49. Access to God’s word makes wise Psa. 19:7-9; 119:97-98; 2Tim. 3:15. The more of God’s word a believer is filled and engage with, the wiser he becomes Pro. 9:9; Mat. 7:24-25.

  • iii) The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom Deu. 34:9; Isa. 11:1-2; Eph. 1:17-18 We saw Him manifested in Joseph and Daniel, with the testimony of display of strange wisdom in their lives Gen. 41:38-44; Dan. 5:11; 6:3. The Holy Spirit helps believers to obey or practice what God’s word command in every situation; this is wisdom, because it is not what we know that makes wise but what we do with what we know Lk. 6:46-49.

It is the Holy Spirit that enables salvation 1Cor. 12:3. It is the Holy Spirit who grants access to God’s word, thereby accessing God’s wisdom 1Cor. 2:10. It is the Holy Sirit who empowers believers to put to word to practice, thereby walk in wisdom Acts 1:8.

  1. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Counsel.

Counsel means advice or plan of action given to help another achieve a desired result. The Holy Spirit knows all things, even the deep things of God 1Cor. 2:10. As the Spirit of counsel, He reveals the things of God relevant to the situation to believers, thereby enabling us to make right decision and take appropriate action, resulting in delivery of desired result. The Spirit of Counsel was one of the seven Spirits of God that rested on Jesus Christ, this made Christ to always take the step and do what commands results Isa. 11:1-3; Mat. 22:16-22; Jn. 8:2-11: Rev. 5:6. By the Spirit of counsel, the Apostles turned the New Testament church into a force to be reckoned with Acts 6:2-7; 16:4-5.

Illustrations.

  1. God gave the Liberation Madate; divine counsel showed the way to go, and we can see what it has become today.
  2. God gave the word of Faith message; divine counsel analyzed and broke it down to 12 pillars, which we now run monthly as a church over the years.
  • God gave the mandate to Africa; divine counsel showed the strategy of pursuit, and the fire is still burning across Africa today after 30 years.

The Spirit of counsel is what empowers the plan of God to come to pass in our lives, which result in fulfilment of destiny Pro. 19:21; Isa. 46:9-10. Reading and meditating in God’s word enhances believer’s access to divine counsel Psa. 119:97-100; 1Tim. 4:13-15.
