Memory verse:
“And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with
what comparison shall we compare it?”
“It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth,
is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: “
“But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs,
and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.”
- Mk. 4:30-32.
Every kingdom has the laws and rules with which the affairs of the kingdom are governed. God’s kingdom to which every true believer belongs is controlled by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus Rms. 12:2. Compliance with this law is the guarantee for maximizing one’s citizenship in God’s kingdom. We have established from yesterday’s teaching the aspect of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus for greatness, this was identified to be dedication Jn. 12:24-25. In essence, the believer that will rise into greatness must be dedicated to God and the advancement of His kingdom.
A simple definition for dedication is; the quality of being committed without reservation or consideration to self until desired result is obtained, and to the end. This commitment guarantees the continuous rise of the believer to great heights. This is one thing the church need to have restored again to have her experience the rise of giants. We started to study characters in scriptures that rose to greatness, to identify the qualities that played the major role in their rise. Be blessed as you study with me today.
Scriptural Examples of Giants who Rose by Dedication.
- Moses.
Moses was a man in asylum in Midian with Jethro. He fled from Egypt because of the burning passion to see God’s people liberated that moved him to kill an Egyptian Exo. 2:11-12. When God instructed him to return back to Egypt to complete the work of liberation of God’s people, he was at first hesitant but his passion got over him Exo. 3:7-10. It was a most difficult task, nonetheless Moses went at the risk of his life Exo. 4:21-22. Moses did not only get God’s people out of Egypt’ captivity, he led them to the brink of the Promised Land. By this accomplishment, he became one of the most outstanding men in bible history Num. 12:1-3; Exo. 11:4.
Remember, dedication is a personal choice, which will place certain demands on the individual. But the good thing is that the blessing of dedication outweighs the demand. Therefore, it is wisdom to make the choice for dedication.
