Memory verse:
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” – Jude 1:23.
Soul-winning is clearly described in Scripture as a rescue mission, to rescue people from captivity to sin and bondage to Satan Jude 1:23. This disrupts the misconception about soul-winning as primarily a drive towards church growth, both with believers and non-believers. Soul-winning is the will and heartbeat of God; every believer who commits become identified by heaven as an individual after God’s heart 1Sam. 13:14. This means that believers occupy different levels before God; there are those drawn close to God’s heart and those that are far off. The experience of each one is determined by his placement by heaven and this is largely a function of our attitude to what matters to God – the soul of man matters most to God.
Scriptural Perspectives that Motivate for Soul Winning.
- Soul-winning Engenders Divine Protection.
When a believer commits to soul-winning, he enjoys partnership with God Mat. 28:19-20. Partnership with God means God’s active presence with the individual, which guarantees protection against all the powers of the enemy Lk. 10:1-2,17-19; 1Jn. 5:19.
- Soul-winning Imparts Divine Honor.
When souls are drawn to Christ in multitudes, God is honored Jn. 15:8; Pro. 14:28. God honors the believer back in return 1Sam. 2:30,
Jesus is Lord!
