Dominion is God’s will for man from the beginning (Gen. 1:28). Man lost it at the fall, but redemption empowered him again for dominion in life (Jn. 1:12; Eph. 1:19-21). Particularly, the end-time church by God’s agenda is ordained to walk in absolute dominion before Christ returns (Dan. 7:27). One vital area of this dominion is over sicknesses, diseases, and affliction (Isa. 33:24). A sound understanding is essential to making this a reality in our lives (Psa. 119:144; Pro. 21:16).
Spirit Behind Diverse Sickness and Disease.
Believers must understand that a spirit is behind most sickness and disease, accept responsibility to deal with it, to experience dominion. Some scriptural examples of spirits behind sicknesses and diseases include the following.
- The Spirit of Fear.
There is a spirit of fear; it was behind the affliction on the health of Job, and it is often behind every incident of death (Job 3:24-25; 2Tim. 1:7; Heb. 2:14-15).
- The Spirit of Deformity.
Often, this is the spirit behind every kind of deformation of the body; such as:
- The woman bowed over for 18 years (Lk. 13:11-16).
- The crippled man at the Beautiful gate of the temple (Acts 3:7).
The Way Out:
By engaging the power of God we cast out the spirit, thereby exercising dominion over sicknesses and diseases (Mat. 10:1-2; Lk. 9:1-2). A guaranteed channel of access to God’s power is God’s Word (Heb. 4:12; 1:3).
How the Word Empowers for Dominion Over Sickness and Disease?
- God’s Word is the Balm in Gilead.
When God’s Word is received as the Balm in Gilead, it releases the power for healing and wholeness, resulting in believer’s walk in dominion (Psa. 107:20; Jer. 8:20-22; Mat. 9:12-13).
- God’s Word is Light.
When the light in God’s Word breaks forth on a believer, it empowers his health to spring up speedily (Jn. 1:1-4; Isa. 58:8).
- God’s Word Transmits Divine Nature.
When divine nature in God’s Word is imparted to a believer, it immune him to sicknesses and diseases (2Pet. 1:4; Ezk. 2:2).
What is in the Word that Heals?
- The Word is Medicinal.
God’s Word is loaded with ‘spiritual medicament’ or ‘healing virtues’ that bring healing to broken and damaged parts of the body (Pro. 4:20-22; Job 33:19-25).
- The Word is Surgical.
When God’s word is received, it turns to “spiritual surgical blade” that cuts through the body to locate, remove, and replace broken and damaged parts (Heb. 4:12; Jn. 1:1-3).
- The Word is Prophetic.
When God’s Word is received, it hastens the delivery of the healing, health, and wholeness that God has promised (Jer. 1:11-12; Ezk. 37:3-14; 2Pet. 1:20-21).
- The Word Quickens Our Human Body.
When God’s Word is received, it releases the life of God it carries into the individual’s body, thereby giving life to whatever was dead in the individual (Jn. 6:63; Isa. 58:8).
Conclusion.
Don’t watch that sickness, disease, and affliction. Don’t accept any excuse or scientific explanation for sickness and diseases. Take scriptural responsibility to enforce your dominion over them, and you will begin to walk in dominion practically all your days.
Salvation Prayer.
To anyone reading this who desires to give their life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me; on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”
Prayer.
- Father, I take grace to embrace scriptural responsibility for my walk in dominion over sicknesses, diseases, and afflictions from now and the rest of my life (1Cor. 15:10).

Thanksgiving is a commandment of God and an instruction of scripture to believers at all times (Mal. 2:1-2; Jer. 13”15-16; 1Ths. 5:18). Every commandment of God and scriptural instruction is for the benefit of believers who obey; this makes thanksgiving a must for everyone who desires a life of profits (2Tim. 3:16-17). What Are We […]
God’s will for every believer is financial fortune, thus making it the heritage for every true child of God (3Jn. 2: Rev. 5:12). Every believer who will experience this heritage in reality has the responsibility to engage kingdom demand, which is the practice of the covenant (Deu. 8:18; Jer. 33:20-21). What is a Covenant? A […]
We have established from scriptures that the covenant is the guaranteed access to kingdom wealth (Deu. 8:18; Jer. 33:20-21). The covenant is not what we pray or fast, but practice to enjoy the benefits (Gen. 17:1-2). A sound understanding of the covenant therefore, is vital for qualitative practice of the covenant resulting in a life […]
Wealth is the heritage of every believer, but accessible only through the practice of the covenant (Rev. 5:12). The covenant works for a believer who commits to faithful practice, and guarantees fortune no matter the hard condition (Psa. 89:34; 37:18-19; Jer. 33:20-21). What is a Covenant? The covenant is a Deal Enacted by God, Based […]
