We need to understand that how well we know about our God will determine the level of result that we will command as believers Dan. 11:32; Jn. 8:32. One basic knowledge of God essential for all believers is that God never does a thing until He has first revealed or declared it Isa. 42:8-9; 46:9-10. This is what we call prophecy; and it is the unveiling of God’s plan and purpose for a people or an individual Deu. 18:21-22; Ezk. 12:25.
Three (3) Main Sources of Prophecy.
- The bible.
This is the more sure word of prophecy, which means that it is the most sure prophecy 2Pet. 1:19-21.
- Personal encounter with God.
This is when God shows us to the believer, and tells him of His plan for the individual life, another person, or people Gen. 12:1-23; Exo. 3:7-10; Acts 9:3-5.
- God sent prophets.
This is when God unveils His plan to any of His prophets, who is sent to make it known to the individual or people concerned Lk. 4:24-25; Mat. 10:41.
How Powerful are Prophecies?
In essence, are prophecies reliable? Can one absolutely depend on what God declares and unveils as His plan for one’s life?
- i) Prophecies are sworn verdicts.
Prophecies are statements that God has sworn over to bring to pass Heb. 6:13-18; Isa. 14:24; Gen. 22:16-18. This makes fulfillment of prophecy unstoppable by any force.
- ii) Prophecies are pronouncements of things within God’s capacity to do.
We must understand that when God speaks it is according to what He can do, and will do when we commit Him Isa. 55:10-11; Lk. 1:34-35.
What does it takes to see Prophecy become fulfilled?
God is committed to deliver whatever H has declared, but the believer has the responsibility to move God to do it. Faith is the spiritual force with which the believer moves God to deliver what He has spoken Heb. 11:6; Mk. 2:5. In essence, no matter how valid a prophecy is, it will take faith to see the prophecies fulfilled Lk. 1:45.
How Does Faith Facilitate Fulfillment of Prophecies?
- Faith strengthens the believer for prophecy fulfillment.
Often, prophecies are far-fetched by human standard. Therefore, the believer will need supernatural strength to be able to take delivery of it. For instance, strength to receive the prophetic word in order to see it delivered Mat. 19:11; 2Kgs. 7:1-2; Rms. 12:2; 2Cor. 10:3-4. Strength to believer the prophetic word in our heart Heb. 4:2; Rms. 10:10; Mk. 11:23. Strength to work out our part, in order to see the prophecy fulfilled Php. 2:12; Jms. 2:18-24,26. We need strength to engage in the fight of faith, to take delivery of the prophecy 1Tim. 1:18; 6:12. Faith is the spiritual virtue that strengthens the believer; in essence, we build strength as we build our faith Heb. 11:11. Therefore, to see the prophecies of 2024 delivered we must commit to build our faith by feeding on the word of God Rms. 10:17; Php. 4:13; 2Tim. 4:13.
In conclusion, God is not a man for His word to fail, nor was God hyping us when He spoke about the year Num. 23:19. Every word of prophecy that has gone forth this year is what God meant to make happen in each one of us. But the fulfillment will depend on our accepting the responsibility as individuals.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for
Prayer.
