YOU CANNOT HAVE A HEART FOR GOD AND NOT HAVE TIME FOR HIM PT. 3.

Memory verse:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

  • Pro. 23:26.

From scriptures, we understand that from the beginning time has been crucial on the earth. Among the first thing that God did on the earth was to create time; this is to show the significance and place of time for life on the earth Gen. 1:1-3. From then on, every outcome on the earth is largely a function of the appropriate use of time Eccl. 9:11; Psa. 90:12. This is why time is one thing the devil is after in the life of a man, knowing that whatever has control over time, has control over the life and what becomes of the individual Eph. 5:15-16. The wisdom for time usage is making God the priority in our schedule Mat. 6:33.

Scriptural Examples of Giants who were product of wise usage of time.

  1. The example of Nehemiah.

Nehemiah was among the Jews taken captive into Babylon, but privileged to be the cupbearer in the palace Neh. 1:1; 2:1. Though his position affords comfort, prosperity, and many more but his heart was after the state of Jerusalem and wellbeing of God’s people. He demonstrated it in using every available opportunity to seek and know of this Neh. 1:3. Despite his busy schedule, he engaged himself in prayers for the restoration of Jerusalem and the Jews, when he got to know about the deplorable state of Jerusalem Neh. 1:4-11. Nehemiah could not hold back but sought and secured the favor of the king to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the broken walls of the city, re-organize the communities and the Jews, and restore prosperity to the land Neh. 2:5-7. Indeed, Nehemiah returned and was busy at the restoration of Jerusalem and the Jew, spending both night and day to get at this Neh. 2:12-20. Nehemiah accomplished the great feat of rebuilding the walls in record time of 52 days, and emerged from a cupbearer to a governor Neh. 5:14; 6:15.

Nehemiah’s heart was after God and Jerusalem, and he proved this in the way he devoted his time to pursue same. It takes a heart for God to make the most of one’s journey on the earth Psa. 112:1-3. Therefore, one cannot have time for God and without making strange mark on the earth.
