Memory verse:
“He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” Mat. 12:30.
We have said that God’s commandment for every believer is to harvest the lost for Christ Mat. 28:19-20; Mk. 16:15-16. And that every harvest left on the field stands the risk of being devoured by pests Mat. 12:30. The security of harvest is in gathering them into the barn or storehouse, and we have identified the church as the spiritual storehouse where the harvested souls are gathered for preservation Psa. 132:13-15; Mal. 3:10. This is why ingathering of souls into the church is a must for the believer.
Scriptural understanding that empowers the believer for ingathering of souls into church.
- To avoid wasted labor.
The labor of the believer in God’s kingdom will be a waste if the harvested souls are not gathered into and made to abide in the church. I have found out that the lack of this understanding is behind the frustrating experience of many believers in their Christian walk Ecc. 10:15. This is because:
- Until our fruits abide, our rewards cannot be fully delivered 15:16; 4:35-36. There is nothing that frustrates like laboring with no fruit to show for it.
- Ingathering of souls into the church is a kingdom engagement that guarantees the making of a believer in to a star 11:30; Dan. 12:3. When a believer is not given to it, he watches as others are turned into stars.
- The believer needs wisdom for ingathering of souls, and with this wisdom an entire harvest field can be taken over for Christ 21;22; Ecc. 9:14-16. The more of harvest the believer gathers, the more God is glorified and the more the believer in return enjoy glory Jn. 15:8; 1Sam. 2:30.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father in the name of Jesus, I ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to see every soul you give to me this year gathered and established in your house, thereby making them to fully partake of their inheritance in Christ and fit for eternity with Christ Acts 8:26.
Action.
Ensure every of your convert for this year are gathered into the church service tomorrow.
