Memory verse:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

  • Pro 23:26.

The heart of man is vital to everything about his life on the earth Pro. 23:7. The truth of scriptures is that every man is a function of the kind of heart he possesses. This is the reason the only thing God demanded from man is his heart Pro. 23:26. When a man’s heart is truly given to God, the individual has the guarantee of a life of testimony 2Chr. 16:9. Scriptures make us to understand that there is a link between the heart and time, wherever the heart goes is shown by how one invest his time 1Chr. 13:14; Psa. 23:6. In essence, when the heart is after God, the individual will take delight in spending his time for God and the interest of His kingdom.

The issue is that many claim to be serving God with their heart, but lack the proofs of same. You cannot claim to have a heart for God and not have time for Him, it will be simply self-deceit. But one cannot have a heart for God and not command greatness in life. We have been studying giants from scriptures, their common denominator have been a heart for God, proved by the quality of time invested into kingdom matters. It is your turn for your testimony.

Examples of Kingdom Giants who Engaged their Time for God.

  1. Nehemiah Neh. 1:1-11; 2:1-9; Neh. 4:23; 5:14.

Nehemiah was a captive of war in Babylon, turned to a palace servant, the cup bearer. Despite his status, his heart was yet panting after the God of Israel and the affairs of Jerusalem the city of God. This was so strong that when he heard of the deplorable state of Jerusalem, he could not withhold back, but give his time to return and rebuild the broken walls. He could have made the excuse of ‘being busy’ serving the king drinks, or say ‘who will take up this responsibility when I go to rebuild the wall’ etc. But the passion for God and Jerusalem was so hot that all other things lost relevance, and he was ready to devote his time to see this kingdom demand accomplished. The end result was that Nehemiah emerged a governor suddenly, without an election.

Nehemiah was turned from a war-captive and servant into a governor (as it were) overnight, by a heart burning for God and His kingdom, which was evidenced by devoting his time for God. Therefore, a proof of a heart for God is in the devotion of our time for God and the interest of His kingdom. And one cannot have time for God without making strange marks on the earth Neh. 4:23; 5:14.
