UNDERSTANDING THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION.

It was the power of His resurrection that came on the scene that brought Jesus out of the grave Matt. 28:1-6; Rms. 8:11. The good news is that the same power can be experienced by the believer, and no one experience the power of His resurrection and remain the same Phil. 3:10; Rms. 8:11. But we must understand that the impact of the power of His resurrection is principally through revelation Phil. 3:10; Eph. 1:17-18.

It is as the eye of understanding is opened by the power of His resurrection that the believer gains access to the benefits the power offers. The result is continuous change from glory to glory 2Cor. 3:18; Isa. 60:1-3,15,22. This is why the first miracle by Christ after He rose from the dead was the opening of the ‘eyes’, which means the taking away of this veil cast on the heart of men Matt. 27:51-52; Lk. 24:30-32; 2Cor. 3:14-15. Therefore, our eyes must be opened to what is available in an encounter with the power of His resurrection.

What is in the Power of His Resurrection?

  1. It empowers us to walk in the newness of life Rms. 6:4,14; 1Cor. 15:42.

The power of His resurrection empowers the believer for freedom from the forces of sin. It destroys the taste, interest, and love for sin, thereby making the believer able to walk in the reality of his new creature.

  • It eradicate shame and reproach 1Cor. 15:43; 2Pet. 1:3.

The power of His resurrection has the potency to wipe off every form of shame and reproach. The death on the cross is the most shameful, and this is vividly exhibited by stripping Jesus naked on the cross. But when the power of His resurrection was made manifest, the shame was turned to glory instantly.

  • It empowers us to walk in the supernatural 1Cor. 15:44; Eph. 2:5-6.

Before the death of Jesus, he suffered limitations the physical body impose; he could only be at one place per time. But when the power of His resurrection manifested, His physical body was transformed into a spiritual body, which gave him unhindered access into the supernatural realm. Thereafter, Jesus walked naturally in the supernatural Jn. 20:19-21; Lk. 24:13-15,30-31.

  • It quickens our mortal body for health and vitality 1Cor. 15:44-45; Rms. 8:11.

The power of His resurrection releases the supernatural life into our human body making it impossible for sickness and disease to be able to stay there. This makes the believer to enjoy health, strength, vitality and wholeness.

  • It empowers us to walk in financial prosperity 2Cor. 8:9; Rev. 5:12.

Scriptures make us to understand that there is the power to lay down and also there is the power to take up again Jn. 10:17-18. The power of His resurrection is what empowers the believer to be able to lay down willingly, cheerfully, which in turn invokes the power to take up that produces abundance. Without this power, giving will be done under duress or for show, and it will not produce prosperity.

  • It empowers us to walk in dominion Eph. 2:5-6; 1:20-21.

The power of His resurrection did not only bring Jesus out of the grave, it also raised Him up into the heavenly place where He sits in dominion Psa. 110:1-2. When this power comes on a believer, it raises him up in the same manner and place him above all oppositions and the forces of life. This makes the believer to exercise dominion in life.

  • It swallows up death in victory 1Cor. 15:53-57; Rev. 1:18.

When the power of His resurrection showed up in the grave, death lost its power instantly, and Jesus came out alive. When this power comes on a believer, in the same manner death loses its power over that life and all that pertains to him.

How to Encounter the Power of His Resurrection.

  1. Have faith for it Matt. 9:29; Lk. 1:45; Heb. 11:6.

Everything that is available in God is accessible only to those who will have faith for it. Faith means agreement with what God days, and going ahead to do what God commands in order to have experience what He says. Therefore, the evidence of faith is the believer’s action, which entitles him for the fulfilment of God’s promise.

  1. Be desperate Psa. 63:1-3; 2Kgs. 2:4,6,15.

It takes a longing of the soul and a thirst of the flesh for a believer to experience the power of His resurrection. A normal Christian does not qualify and cannot have this encounter.

  1. A cry of the heart Lk. 11:!3; Lk. 8:443-46; Matt. 9:20-22.

God’s power will always answer to a cry of the heart form a believer. A cry of the heart means the believer from his inner man placing a demand for the release of the power of His resurrection on his life. Often, a cry of the heart is a product of true desperation.

In conclusion, days have great significance in the things of God, and an understanding of days and seasons enable the believer to maximize what each moment offer 1Chr. 12:32; Lk. 19:40-44. Remember, we serve the God who takes delight in repeating every of His acts again and again, if we will invoke Him by doing what was done that moved Him to do it in the past Mal. 3:6. I therefore see the power of His resurrection come upon your life today, and i see your experience continuous upward change henceforth.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, release on my life the power of His resurrection, thereby giving me dramatic and instant changed story Matt. 28:1-2.
