Just as the physical heart is vital to human life, so is faith to the kingdom life of a believer Pro. 4:23; Hab. 2:4. A heart failure indicates instant death, also faith failure means instant death of the believer’s kingdom life Lk. 22:32; Jn. 10:10.  In essence, when the faith of a believer fails, he is disconnected from the kingdom life, and everything the kingdom life has to offer. Therefore, faith is a must for every believer that will experience the reality of the life of God Heb. 11:6.

Faith is a Personal Responsibility.

Faith is not automatic, only the believer who takes responsibility for his faith that will have it Lk. 8:23-25. What is the responsibility? It is genuine labour in the word of God, this is the fundamental way to build faith Rms. 10:17; Heb. 4:11-12. The labor involves;

  • Hearing and reading Rms. 10:17; 1Tim. 4:13.
    • Meditation Psa. 119:99; 1:2.
    • Praying the word Jude 20.
    • Practice of the word Jos. 1:8.

No matter how viable and the quality of your seed, there are more things required after planting for it to deliver great fruits.

Demands for Faith to Grow and Deliver.

  1. Make God your only source of expectation.

An alternative source than God to the believer’s expectation makes his faith to become dead. Faith demands that the believer has only God has his hope and source of expectation Psa. 62:5; 121:1-3. Get rid of all alternatives and your faith will come alive.

  • Beware of serving other gods.

Other gods simply refer to any other thing that comes first in the believer’s life before the living God. One can recognize this by what tales your time, money, thoughts most, other than the living God Pro. 23:7,26; Mat. 6:19. Such a thing is the other god; it will disconnect the believer from faith and the life of God Psa. 16:4. The bible instructs that the believer should get rid of such Exo. 20:4-5.

  • Beware of evil conscience.

The conscience is the voice of the inner man that tells the individual what is wrong and right. It is the inner police that guide an individual on the right path of life. To build faith, the believer needs a good and pure conscience 1Tim. 1:19; 3:9; 2Chr. 16:9. Building a pure and good conscience demands that we refuse every form of dishonesty and deceit, and commit to do what God’s word and the Holy Spirit tells us per time 2Cor. 4:1-2.

  • Keep the joy of the Lord alive in you.

Joy is the covenant force with which we draw the virtues of kingdom Isa. 12:3. Faith is a virtue we draw from God’s word, joy is therefore needed Php. 4:4; 1Ths. 4:16. Abraham’s faith was a function of his joy unspeakable Rms. 4:20-21.

In conclusion, without faith, the Christian life is reduced to mere religion, which lacks the power required to deliver the results expected. When faith come alive, the believer gains access to all that the kingdom has to offer, and his life becomes the envy of all. Remember, faith won’t just happen it is a personal responsibility.

To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer loudly with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me and on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me.”

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the grace to get my faith alive this month thereby terminating my struggle in life Mk. 9:24.
