Faith is the foundation for the Christian life that will be victorious and glorious 1Jn. 5:4; Eph. 6:16. Faith s not an arbitrary thing, it is real, and can be handled Eph. 6:16. When the believer’s faith comes alive, life takes a new form for good and glory. When the Christian life of a believer lacks glory or is characterized by defeat, the challenge is his faith Lk. 22:31-32. Faith failure is life and destiny failure; so we need to understand what faith is and how to make one’s faith to work.
What is faith?
- Faith is obeying God to prove that you believe Him, so as to have God confirm His word.
Doing what God says is what we call faith Jms. 2:18. When we truly believe God, we move to do what He says without fear or shaking of the heart Heb. 11:7.
- Faith is reasoning with God in the light of His word, in order to discover what to do for His promise to be actualized.
We are product of our reasoning Pro. 23:7; 4:23. When we put God’s word in our heart and we make it to become what we reason on, faith comes alive in us to deliver a good life Isa. 1:18; 1Tim. 4:13,15; Heb. 4:2.
- Faith is not waiting for God to work; it is putting God’s word to work so as to commit God to make good His promise.
When you hear a believer say “I believe God” and he is not doing anything, he is deceiving himself Jos. 1:8; Php. 2:12. When we say such, we proof that we truly believe God to do what we expect by doing whatever God says in His word that will make Him deliver our desire Jn. 5:2-7; 2Cor. 6:2; Pro. 3:27-28.
What makes Faith to Work.
These refer to the scriptural ways to operate faith, for it to work.
- Redemption-based faith.
The faith that will work must be rooted in genuine salvation 1Jn. 5:4. When an individual has believed God and it has not worked, my recommendation is to become born again or rededicate his life to Christ, there will be a change.
- Revelation-based faith.
This is faith that is borne out of clear understanding of what the word of God says, and how to correctly apply the word for result Rms. 10:1-6,14-17; 4:16-20. Some believer’s faith are based only on what the pastor said, and often face disappointment but when they now locate God’s word and stand on it, they will never see disappointment again 2Chr. 20:20.
- Obedience activated faith.
The faith that works is rooted in the raw application of God’s word to life to life situation Jms. 2:18-24,25-26. It might not appeal to human reasoning, science and medical knowledge, but when it is what God’s word says that is applied, there is the guarantee of result.
- Conscience-based faith.
The faith that works must come from a conscience that is pure 1Tim. 1:19; 3:9. A defiled conscience is one major reason why many believer’s faith has not been working, and the way out is to purge our heart of all defilement by the blood 2Cor. 1:12; Heb. 9:14.
- Love-boosted faith.
Love is the covenant force that makes faith to work, by augmenting the power of our faith Gal. 5:6; 1Cor. 13:1-3. The love of God triggers the virtues of faith, and moves God’s hand to do the unusual Jn. 11:35,39-44.
- Fear-free faith.
The faith that works must be free of fear, because fear brings the believer into captivity and torment Pro. 29:25; 1Jn. 4:18. When a believer is afraid, he should understand that he is no longer is faith, what he must do is get rid of the fear Mat. 14:26-29,30-31. To get rid of fear is by casting out the spirit of fear engaging the authority in the name of Jesus 2Tim. 1:7; Mk. 16:17.
In conclusion, all that the believer need is to have his faith come alive. Every man has the capacity to operate in bible-faith, and experience the life of exploits.
To anyone reading this that will love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you Jesus for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for
Prayer.

A core wonder of the altar of prayer and fasting is express answer to prayers Isa. 58:6,9.
