• 1Cor. 2:9.

The love of God is a virtue or spiritual weapon of great worth in the believer’s life. The scripture recognizes it as the greatest of the weapons in the kingdom, able to give the believer the best of experience in life 1Cor. 13:13. One vital feature of the love of God is that it cannot fail, while other virtues may, which makes the love of God unbeatable 1Cor. 13:8. The good news is that the love of God is not a gift but a choice, hence anyone can access it by the engagement of the power of decision Jos. 24:15; Mat. 6:24. A sound understanding of what the love of God is, is vital to experience the wonders it offers.

The Proofs of the love of God in the believer’s life.

1. Affection for God above all else including self.

A genuine love for God is about having one’s heart pant after God above every other thing in life, including one’s life Lk. 14:26-27; 6:40. When there is anything that seems to take a man’s interest before God, he is no longer registered as a lover of God.

• Passion for the afflicted as in the case of Moses.

God’s lovers are not concerned about their comfort first, but the comfort of those that are in need Psa. 41:1-3. This was the case of Moses; he was privileged to be in the comfort of the palace, but could not stand the torment the Israelites were subjected to Exo. 2:11-22; 3:7-10, 4:17-20. This opened the door of destiny to him.

• Unwavering stand no matter the pressure.

The scriptures show that love is as strong as death SOS 8:6. In essence, genuine love for God makes one to stand for and be recognized with God irrespective of the pressure that comes.

With God’s love established in a believer, he becomes an unbeatable personality Rms. 8:35-37. The choice for the love of God is the wisdom for more than a conqueror life.

Prayer.                                                

Father in the name of Jesus; empower me by your Spirit for the love of God, thereby enable me to be passionate towards lost souls Rms. 5:5.

Action.

Make the choice for God and the affairs of His kingdom to become the first thing in your life from today.
