Memory verse:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

  • Mat. 6:33.

We understand from scriptures that serving God is the believer’s guarantee to God’s blessing Exo. 23:25-26. But our approach will determine if our service will deliver the blessing of God Heb. 12:28. Many serve God thinking they are doing God a favor, some others think they are helping the pastor and the church. Such believers will be available for service only when they have the time, and any little thing that upsets them makes them to take off. For kingdom stewardship to profit the believer, it must be seen as a business and given that approach Rms. 12:11. This was the attitude of Jesus to serving God Lk. 2:49. To serve God as a business means, it will be the priority in the believer’s life, more important than every other thing including his job Mat. 6:33. One cannot serve God in this way and not emerge the envy of his world.

The different ways of serving God.

  1. Follow up of our new converts.

From scriptures, we understand that the task God gave the believer popularly known as the great commission is not to make new converts but believers who are walking in the truth Mat. 28:19-20. This demands that new converts be nurtured after their conversion until they are established in the rudimentary of the faith and walking with God Psa. 11:3; Isa. 5:13. We are to ensure they attend the ‘Believers Foundation Class’, belong to home cell the grass root family unit of the church for necessary care, spiritual development and effective watch over Heb. 6:1-5; Acts 2:46. These activities are of great price in the sight of God, but we must remember that God does not reward groups but individuals 1Cor. 3:8.
