Memory verse:
“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.”
“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come” 1Tim. 4:7-8.
The scriptures make us to understand that salvation is a call to kingdom service Eph. 2:10. In essence, the believer is saved primarily to serve the interest of God’s kingdom. When a believer is not committed to kingdom stewardship, he has missed out on purpose, and will not be able to experience the full life of glory ordained for him. From scriptures, we have established that spiritual stewardship is the most rewarding of the three forms of kingdom stewardship 1Tim. 4:7-8.
What are the various ways of engaging in spiritual stewardship?
- Praying for new converts and new members to be established in the faith.
This exercise is termed spiritual stewardship because its delivery is lives that are now light to their world Col. 1:12; Mat. 5:13-14. The following will empower the believer’s commitment to this form of service.
- Praying for new converts shuts the door against the manipulation of the devil targeted at drawing them back from the faith 11:24-26; Gal. 4:19.
- We partner with Christ through intercession towards new converts establishment in the faith, which is our calling 4:12; Heb. 7:25.
- We are seeking first God’s kingdom, which brings believers into favor with God 6:33; Psa. 102:13-15.
- Every believer that commits to bringing souls into the kingdom through prayer or soul winning never lack testimonies 10:1-2,17-19; Psa. 35:27.
