Memory verse:

“And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their

fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;”

“That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be

put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.”

“And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting,

and with trumpets, and with cornets.”

“And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their

heart, and sught him with their whole desire; and he was found of them:

and the LORD gave them rest round about.”

  • 2Chr. 15:12-15.

The scriptures make us to understand that the pathway to greatness in life is service, and serving God is fundamental Lk. 22:25-27; Matt. 20:25-28. Everyone truly and faithfully serving today is an emerging leader. And every leader you see today was a committed to service yesterday. God has deep interest in everyone that submits to the demand of service, to lift such to great heights. Anyone that is serving God and the interest of His kingdom on the earth is who we call a servant of God. What makes serving God to be this powerful? It is the guarantee to God’s blessing and reward Exo. 23:25. And God’s blessing is the key to the life of glory and greatness on the earth Pro. 10:22.

What does serving God mean? It is the commitment to engage in whatever will advance God’s kingdom on the earth Psa. 102:13-15; 2Chr. 15:12-15. Essentially this involves anything that will lead to souls being won and established in God’s kingdom Jn. 15:16. Everyone given to such activities is recognized as a servant of God, no matter his age, gender, position in church etc. Again today, we shall study a bible character who was known as a servant of God; how he attained that status and the impact on his life.

Scriptural Examples of Servants of God who had no Church title or Ordination.

  1. David.

David was the king of Israel; this is synonymous to being the president of a nation in our present day. Israel was the strongest nation in David’s days, so it means being the president of the strongest nation in the world. Yet, David was acknowledged in scriptures by God as His servant Psa. 89:20-24; 119:46. And record has it that from an unrecognized member of a family, David became the most celebrated king of Israel till date.

Therefore, you are not wasting your time and resources serving the Lord, it is a covenant platform for ones supernatural breakthroughs in life Lk. 5:1-8; Dan. 12:3.
