Memory verse:

“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy

bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the

 midst of thee.”

“There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land:

the number of thy days I will fulfil.”

  • Exo. 23:25-26.

The scriptures make us to understand that every man’s life is affected largely by his own actions Gal. 6:7. Therefore, our service to God is essentially to the benefit of our lives as individuals Job 36:11. In essence, when a believer engages in serving God, he is not doing it to help God, the church or the pastor. He is engaged in what will bring his life into God’s blessing. God is the same, He does not change whatever we do or don’t Mal. 3:6. Therefore, whether we serve Him or not, God remains the ‘I am that I am’. The believer is the one that needs God and His blessing by serving God Exo. 23:25-26. Serving God is not just being active in church; it is contributing to the enlargement of God’s kingdom and the growth of the church 1Cor. 3:6.

The Benefit that Accrue to the Believer in Serving God.

  1. Serving God guarantees express access to answered prayers.

The scriptures make us to understand that when the believer is committed to the advancement of God kingdom, God in return is moved to deliver answer to his desires with speed Jn. 15:16. One thing that makes Christianity beautiful and enviable is when prayers command answer, and this is what serving God does Jn. 16:23-24.

  • Serving God turns every shame to glory.

The scriptures make us to understand that the more of souls we win and bring to God, the more we bring glory to God Jn. 15:8; Pro. 14:28. The more God is glorified, the more He releases His glory on the believer in return 1Sam. 2:30. In essence, serving God invokes God’s glory on the believer turning every shame around his life into glory.

It is important to understand that serving God is not just what makes it to work, but serving God as a priority Mat. 6:33. In essence, serving God must become the first thing in the believer’s life.
