Memory verse:
“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and
from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will
shew thee:”
“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make
thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:“
“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:
and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
“So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went
with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”
- Gen. 12. 1-4.
A walk with God is essential to make the most of one’s relationship with God; this was why Enoch stood out in his generation Gen. 5:23-25. Abraham’s perfect walk with God was a strong factor for his outstanding experience with God Gen. 17:1. But for a successful walk with God, the requirement is obedience to the instruction of God from His word and as given per time by the Holy Spirit Jn. 2:5. It is not just obedience, but prompt obedience that counts with God. Delayed obedience is same as disobedience in the kingdom SOS. 5:2-7. Remember, we serve the God of times and seasons; with specific instruction for each season. Therefore, our prompt obedience is what makes us to profit from every prophetic season.
The Power in Prompt Obedience.
- Promptness has the power to break fallow ground.
Fallow ground refers to a new area of life that has not been explored or invaded. Prompt obedience to divine instruction has the power to open up such new areas to the believer, turning him to a pathfinder and trail blazer. This was the case of Peter when he responded prompt to the heavenly vision by going to the house of Cornelius, which resulted in the opening of the door of gospel to the Gentiles Acts 10:19-22,44-48. This gave the gospel a new level of impact and global spread.
We understand from scriptures that delayed response or obedience to divine instruction or any vision can be counter-productive SOS 5:2-7. Therefore, we must be prompt in our response to the demands of the on-going revival, in kingdom advancement engagement.
