Memory verse:

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”             – Ecc. 3:1,11.

Obedience is a fundamental demand for maximizing kingdom privileges, especially divine instruction Deu. 28:1-2. It is not enough to obey, we must be prompt in our response for obedience to be profitable Jn. 13:27; 2Tim. 4:2. This is because our God is a God of times and seasons, His instructions are time tagged Ecc. 3:1-2. When our response is delayed, we stand the risk of stepping out of the time bound and losing the blessing Mat. 25:10-12. This understanding is crucial because of the on-going operation by all means, in order to be full partaker of the blessings of the season.

Understanding the Power of Prompt Obedience.

  1. It Enforces the Opening of Every Door.

When our response is prompt, every door on our path open of their own accord Isa. 45:1. Peter exemplified this truth; he responded prompt to heavenly vision when he went to Cornelius house, and this opened the door of the gospel to the Gentiles Acts 19:19-22,44-46.

  1. Delayed Response Renders Obedience Ineffective.

Obedience is a powerful kingdom force; it moves God into believer’s situation Deu. 28:1. When God steps in, every concern becomes terminated. Delayed obedience erodes the effect of obedience SOS 5:2-7; Heb. 3:7-8.
