Memory verse:
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.” – Psa. 62:5-7.
Scripture shows us that faith is what gives meaning, and adds beauty, to our walk with God Hab. 2:4; Mat. 9:29. Outside of faith, a walk with God is reduced to mere religion, which is powerless and unproductive. Everyone who will enjoy a glorious walk with God must have good understanding of faith. Faith could be simply described as expectation, according to Heb. 1:1. When believer’s expectation stands on what God has spoken, we refer to it as faith, and it is the force behind prayer that prevails Pro. 23:18; Mk. 11:24.
The Power of Expectation.
- The Example of Nehemiah.
Nehemiah was the leader God used in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem Neh. 1:3-4; 2:1-6. He prayed answer expectant prayer, and God granted him supernatural favor before the king that led to accomplishment of result Neh. 1:5-11; 2:7-9.
- Expectation Secures Answer to Bugging Questions of Our Lives.
When we call on God with clear expectation, we have the guarantee of answer to the questions that are bugging our heart 2Chr. 20:12-17; Jer. 33:3.
- Expectation Empowers Right Action.
Our action is vital in determining our outcome 1Sam. 2:3; Jms. 2:18. The expectation of the heart influences the steps an individual will take in life Pro. 23:7,
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, by the help of the Holy Spirit the power of expectation comes alive in my prayer life, thereby making me to prevail on the prayer altar from now Psa. 62:5.
Action.
Make the decision to ensure your expectation are in line with scripture from now.
