The relentless drive after church growth is not ambition of some pastors for personal gain. It is God’s commandment to the church as contained in scriptures Mat. 28:19-20; Mk. 16:15-16. Church growth is against the gates of hell, this is why it won’t happen ordinarily, but by believers accepting responsibility 1Ths. 2:18; Mat. 16:18. Prayer is the covenant responsibility for enforcing the supernatural growth of the church Isa. 66:7-8. This is not praying for butter and bread, but kingdom advancement focused prayer Mat. 6:9-10.
The Power of Prayer in Commanding Church Growth.
- It Stirs Noiseless Breakthroughs in Church Growth.
Church growth is the major concern of the devil, which he presents stiff resistance Mat. 16:18. Breakthrough is essential for every church that will experience growth, and prayer guarantees noiseless breakthrough Isa. 66:7-8; Ezk. 36:37.
- It empowers for unusual accomplishment.
The prayer altar is the altar of supernatural empowerment, for unusual result Lk. 4:1-2,14,; Acts. 4:31-33. Nehemiah’s example of rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem within 52 days shows the power of prayer Neh. 1:1-3,4-11; 4:9-23.
- It enhances divine guidance.
Prayer and fasting enhances divine guidance that invokes supernatural growth of the church Isa. 58:6,11; Acts 10:9-10.
