Memory verse:

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.”

  • Ezk. 36:37.

God’s will for His church is supernatural and continuous growth Mat. 16:18. We must understand that God’s will is always for the profit of His children Jer. 29:11. Therefore, church growth is to profit believers and bless the community and world. This is because the church is the light of the world, and the larger the church becomes the more lighted our dark world becomes Mat. 5:14. The scriptures stand is that only those who engage in pursuit after church growth will partake of the profit Gen. 8:22. How do we get involved in church growth? Prayer investment is the principal way to engage in the pursuit of church growth Ezk. 36:37. It has been established both from scriptures and contemporary that every praying church is a growing church Isa. 66:7-8.

The power of prayer for church growth.

  1. The supernatural growth of the church requires the ministry of the reaper-angels.

The scriptures show the place of the reaper-angels in bringing supernatural growth to the church of Christ Mat. 13:39; Rev. 14:14,16. The ministry of angels is invoked on the prayer altar; this is why every praying church will always be a supernaturally growing church Mat. 26:53.

  • The angels of God excel in strength and will always hearken to the voice of God’s word.

The reaper-angels operate with strength that is beyond human Psa. 103:20. This means what human strength cannot make happen is what they deliver when they are invoked to work. And every time the believer declares what God’s word says, angels go to work to make the word to be delivered Heb. 1:14. In prayer, we simply speak God’s word back to Him Hos. 14:2; 1Jn, 5:14-15.

  • Prayer and fasting is s covenant platform for noiseless breakthroughs in church growth.

When fasting is added to prayer, unusual power is generated Isa. 58:6. Power is one thing the forces of darkness that oppose church growth will always bow to, thereby resulting in the enlargement of the church Mat. 17:21.
