Memory verse:
“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” – Lk. 9:28-29.
We understand from scripture that the altar of prayer is the altar of transformation Lk. 9:28-35. This transformation first occurs in the individual; it is this internal change that leads to the outward one in a person’s life Mat. 23:26. Until our labor in prayer changes something in us, it cannot change anything around our lives. We must therefore approach the altar of prayer and fasting with the expectation of what God will touch and change in us, for our desired turnaround testimony to become a reality. Pro. 23:18.
Scriptural Example of An Individual with Amazing Testimony from a Prayer Life.
- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
These are popularly referred to as the three Hebrew boys; they were taken as prisoners of war from Jerusalem to Babylon Dan. 1:3-7. These three joined Daniel in standing for God in the midst of the defilement in Babylon Dan. 1:10:16. They became a company of prayer warriors as they gave themselves to engage the prayer altar as a team Dan. 2:17-18. This impacted their lives as individuals; their natural bodies were turned into the supernatural, and the effect was that fire had no more power over their bodies, clothes, nor could the smell of fire be perceived on them when they were thrown into the furnace Dan. 3:27-28.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, pour upon me the Spirit of grace and supplication, thereby empowering my prayer life to a new level of effectiveness and results Zch. 10:12.
Action.
Check for the change in your life since this fast began, for your desired testimony.
