Memory verse:
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” – Heb. 6:12.
Prayer and fasting have been known and used in the church majorly as a platform for asking and receiving Mat. 7:7-8. Scripture clearly states that it is more blessed to give than to receive Acts 20:35. By implication, it means when prayer is mainly for receiving, it delivers at the lowest. On the contrary, when prayer and fasting become platforms for serving God, they are turned to giving channel that makes them to deliver the best Lk. 2:35. We turn prayer and fasting to platforms for serving God when the focus is kingdom advancement, salvation and in-gathering of souls, wellbeing of people, and the likes. This was how saints of old emerged as giants through prayer and fasting.
Scriptural Example of Prayer-Made Giant.
- Daniel.
Daniel was a notable and accredited prayer giant of his days. The king had a dream and forgot what it was, Daniel with his three friends engaged the prayer altar and moved God to reveal the dream to them Dan. 2:1-4,16-19. Daniel as an individual had the culture of scheduled three times of prayer every day, despite his busy daily routine as a senior administrator in the nation Dan. 6:1-3,10. Indeed, Daniel had a lifestyle of prayer and generated undeniable results from his prayer life. Bible record has it that the prayer of Daniel transformed him in no small measure. He became an individual that lions had no power over his body; his flesh was not one that the lions could feed on as they do to others Dan. 6:19-23.
