Memory verse:
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” – Heb. 6:12.
Redemption brought believers into a lively hope, where all blessings for a life of glory and greatness has been made available to him 1Pet. 1:3; Eph. 1:3. The reason some believers struggle and experience frustration is because of lack of understanding of how to access this lively hope and blessings Ecc. 10:15. Serving God is the prescribed scriptural pathway Exo. 23:25-26; Job 36:11. A vital way to serve God, and one of the most profitable that believers seem to be ignorant of is through prayer and fasting Lk. 2:37; Isa. 58:6-7. This is because prayer and fasting are essentially secret investments, with the guarantee of turning the individual to an open manifestation of God’s rewards Mat. 6:6,17-18. We have seen this in the lives of saints in the bible who were given to prayer and fasting, as they were turned to giants.
Scriptural Example of Prayer-Made Giant.
- Moses.
Moses was a man mighty in prayer as documented in bible record. He stood in the gap for the entire nation of Israel, to preserve them from destruction when they were to be consumed by God’s anger Exo. 32:9-14. Moses was with God for 40 days and nights on two occasions Exo. 32:1,15; 34:28. He never ate food nor drank water all the 40 days and nights; it was a mountain of prayer and fasting, where he had a one-on-one interaction with God Exo. 34:27-28. The effect was the transfiguration of Moses; his body was physically radiating God’s glory that none could look directly at his face Exo. 34:30-35. At 120, his natural force was not abated and his eyes were still as sharp as that of a youth Deu. 34:7.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, baptize me with the Spirit of grace and supplication at a level new thereby making me an effective kingdom steward Zch. 12:10.
Action.
Set a target for your investment on the altar of prayer and fasting from now.
