In electricity, the life-wire is what carries the current or the ‘power’. When the life-wire is functional, no one dares touch the system carelessly. But when the life-wire is not functional, any thief can vandalize the entire system. We have established from scriptures that prayer and fasting is the life-wire of any church that will generate the power, which will result in growth Ezk. 36:37; Mat. 17:21. When the church does not pray she become infested with ‘thieves’ or devils, these are the enemies that resist church growth Mk. 11:17; Mat. 16:18. A non-praying church therefore has given room for the gates of hell (devils) to resist her growth. This is why we say, a praying church is a growing church, and a growing church must keep praying to keep growing.

The Power of Prayer in Effecting Church Growth.

1. Prayer is vital for soul winning efforts to be fruitful.

Soul winning is the wisdom for sustaining church growth, because no church grows without a people on the go Lk. 14:17-23; Jn. 4:29,39. But it takes prayer for our outreach efforts to deliver the result of multitude, without which every labor made will be futile. This is because the god of this world with the mission to blind the mind of men from seeing and responding to the gospel will prevent them from responding 2Cor. 4:4; Lk. 11:21-22. We must destroy the influence of the god of this world in prayer, for us to record success when we reach out with the gospel.

• Prayer and fasting is required salvation and establishment of souls.

In prayers, we move God’s hand to make men ready and willing for salvation Isa. 66:7-8. Also, in prayer we make converts to grow into the stature of Christ Gal. 4:19; Col. 4:12. In essence, it takes prayer to see men saved and established which will result in the supernatural growth of the church.

Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the Spirit of grace and supplication to maximize this prophetic season thereby take full delivery of my 4-quantum change Zch. 12:10.

Action.

Focus in praying for all your converts and contacts to be present in church tomorrow, and to have definite encounters in the word.
