The scriptures make us to understand that the church of Jesus Christ is ordained for continuous and unending growth Mat. 16:18. Remember, every provision of God has His demand(s) that must be obeyed in order to experience the provision in reality Deu. 28:1. What is it for the growth of the church? The fundamental demand is prayer investment Ezk. 36:37; Psa. 2:8. From scriptures, we discover that every praying church is a growing church, and every growing church must remain a praying church in order to keep experiencing growth Acts 2:46-47; 6:4,7. This is the reason why we said prayer and fasting is the life-wire of every growing church.

The Power of Prayer in Effecting Church Growth.

1. Prayer is the sharpest of all the sickles of harvest for church growth.

Church growth involves harvest, the harvest of the unsaved into God’s kingdom and the church Acts 2:41,47. Scriptures show us that prayer is one tool that makes the harvest cheap and productive Acts. 12:42; Acts 7:38. It has the capacity to make the earth bring forth in one day and birth a nation at once Isa. 66:7-8.

• Prayer is the tool for removing the gates of hell that resist church growth.

The growth of the church is against the gates of hell, a church will never grow until these gates of hell are handled Mat. 16:18. Every gate of hell will be cleared off by the combination of the forces of prayer and fasting Mat. 17:19-21.

Therefore, whatever cannot stop the church from praying cannot stop the church from growing. God has promised a four level dimension of growth in the next eight weeks, tagged as ‘Operation Change of Story’. We need to invest adequately on the prayer altar to take delivery of this prophetic provision.
