The redemptive work of Christ is not to bring man into a religion, nor get him into just spiritual activities. The redemptive work of Christ is ordained to bring man into a new realm of life, which is foreign to the natural and the earth but superior and rules over it Jn. 3:16,31. In essence, when an individual embraces the redemptive work of Christ in his life, he begins to exhibit a life above the natural that is known on the earth, this makes him a wonder to men Jn. 3:8; Isa. 8:18. We can say, therefore, that what validates redemption is the life of the supernatural and the miraculous, anything other than this makes the believer vulnerable to the forces of lief and situation Psa. 82:5-7.

What is a Miracle or the Supernatural?

  1. A miracle is God at work in the affairs of men.

In everything on the earth, it is either man at work or God at work. When God is at work, the outcome will make men wonder and marvel Mk. 16:20; Psa. 118:23. In essence, when the day-to-day life of the believer makes men wonder, he is experiencing the supernatural in his life.

  1. A miracle is the finger of God in operation.

God has fingers and God often engages them to work on the earth. We saw how God wrote the Ten Commandments on tablets of stone with His fingers and gave them to Moses Exo. 31:18. Whatever God’s finger does makes men to become afraid and stand in awe Exo. 18:16-18; Deu. 26:8.

In the earthly life of Jesus, He demonstrated this supernatural order of life on a daily basis, because one of His missions is to display the supernatural life on the earth and show how the believer can operate in it Jn. 3:1-2; Acts 1:1.

How to Operate in the Supernatural?

  1. Engage the power of new birth.

New birth is the non-negotiable first step to operating in the supernatural Jn. 3:1-2,3-5. The following take place at new birth that guarantee the believer’s ability to operate in the supernatural thereafter.

  1. i) At new birth, the same life of God is imparted into the believer.

With the same life of God in the believer, they are now ‘god’ according to God’s order but in the likeness of man Psa. 82:5-7; Acts 14:11; Rms. 6:23.

  1. ii) At new birth, the power of God is imparted to the believer.

At the point of embracing the redemptive work of Christ, the power of God is released into the believer Jn. 1:12. This gives the believer the same ability as God, to do what God can do, thereby walking in the supernatural naturally Jn. 3:8; Isa. 8:18.

  • iii) At new birth, the believer is repositioned far above all principalities and powers.

This puts the believer in command of the supernatural, and in absolute authority over the forces of life Col. 1:13; Eph. 2:5-6; 1:20-21.

In conclusion, on this earth, every man is either operating under the forces of life or in command of them. God created man to have command over all the forces of life, thereby enjoy a glorious life on the earth Gen. 1:28. But the life of command is only possible by operating in the supernatural, and the fundamental demand for the supernatural is new birth.

To anyone reading this who would love to give his/her life to Christ, pray this prayer out loud with me from your heart: “Lord Jesus, I surrender my life to you today. Forgive me my sins; wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me, on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe that my sins are forgiven; I’m justified by your blood; I’m born-again; I’m saved; I’m a child of God; I’m free from the power of sin to serve the living God. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving me; thank you Jesus for restoring me; thank you Jesus for saving me. Amen!”

Prayer.

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, I believe in the reality of the supernatural life and I choose to walk in it from now 9:23.
  2. Father in the name of Jesus, whatever will deny me of operating in the supernatural is taken off my life now 15:13.
