Memory verse:

“So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the

master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly

into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor,

and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.”

“And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and

 yet there is room.”

“And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and

hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

  • Lk. 14:21.

God demands the growth of His church, because it is His will for the church Matt. 16:18; Lk. 12:32. Why is the believer to take the growth of the church as a must? Among other things, it is because church growth brings glory to God Pro. 14:28; Jn. 15:8. Also, the growth leads to the glory of believers Jer. 30:19. But for church growth it is as the believers take up their responsibility that God is invoked to effect the growth of His church. We have identified the believer’s responsibilities as planting and watering 1Cor. 3:6-9.

These demands on the believer does not permit sitting down, rather they keep the believer on his feet and on the move towards the growth of the church. Therefore, we said no church will grow except by the people being on the go. What are the ways a believer can get going towards the advancement of God’s kingdom and the growth of the church? Our teaching today will add to what we have been looking at since this week began. And I pray that the grace to engage by the things the Holy Spirit is showing us will answer on your life from now.

Ways of Being on the Go for Christ towards Church Growth.

  1. A commitment to become a sales representative of the gospel.

The gospel of Christ that saves is God’s product for humanity Jn. 3:16. The sale of every product stops where its marketing stops Mk. 5:18-21; Jn. 4:29,39. The believer must become effective and aggressive in the marketing of the gospel if the church must experience growth.

  • A commitment to engage the Holy Spirit, the Lord of the harvest.

From scriptures, we understand that the Holy Spirit is the Lord of the harvest Lk. 10:2; Matt. 9:37-38. Until He is stirred to work, the church cannot experience growth. The prayer altar is the platform where we invoke the Holy Spirit to work Acts 4:29-33. Every church that will experience growth must therefore be a praying church.

Jesus is Lord!

Prayer.

Father in the name of Jesus, baptize me afresh with the Holy Spirit thereby empower me in a new way on my prayer altar and reaching out to the unsaved Acts 1:8.

Action.

Prayer specifically for the Holy Spirit to blow over our land and gather all the unsaved to the church next Sunday, for their salvation and establishment in the kingdom.

Priestly Blessings.

I see the hand of God rest on you for unusual pursuit after the salvation of souls henceforth!

For every of your labor towards kingdom enlargement, your reward shall be fully delivered!
