Memory verse:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for

doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in

 righteousness:”

“That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all

 good works.”

  • 2Tim. 3:16-17.

God ordained every of His child for a life of profit Pro. 4:18. Profit means gain, increase, growth, or development.  In essence, God’s design is that the believer will enjoy a life that will be on the increase continually, everything is getting better; irrespective of the climatic condition and one’s credentials. Therefore, to be suffering losses and experience a better yesterday is unscriptural and not of God. Everyone desire a profitable life, but the effort many exert at this has resulted in struggles because it is not the right way to go about it Eccl. 10:15. For the believer to experience the life of profits, he needs to come to the understanding of how God has ordained for it to become a reality.

Scriptures has answer to all things in life, and it shows us that the commandment of scriptures is the believer guarantee for profitable living 2Tim. 3:16-17. Any area where a believer is not experiencing profit is the area he has not applied his life to the commandment of scriptures. Therefore, we must see every statement of scripture as a commandment to be obeyed Deut. 28:1; Pro. 2:1-2. Lack of this is what makes a believer to adjust scriptures, thereby not to obeying it.

Our teachings this week will be focused on identifying certain fundamental commandments of scriptures. We shall be looking closely at those commandments and the profits they deliver as we obey them.

Fundamental Commandments of Scriptures for the Believer’s Profiting.

  1. The love commandment.

From scriptures, love for God is the greatest commandment to the believer, to love God with all making Him to come before every other thing including self Matt. 22:36-40; Jn. 21:15; 1Cor. 13:1-13. Interestingly, delightsome obedience is the practical proof of genuine love for God Jn. 14:21; Psa. 112:1. Also, the love of God that is expressed by love for the brethren is what validates the believer as a true disciple of Christ. The love of God ahs the profit of turning the believer to a high flyer in life Rms. 8:28; 1Cor. 2:9.
