The way for the believer to experience the best of kingdom life is to operate with the understanding of times and seasons 1Chr. 12:32. From scriptures, we understand that we are in the last days, the days before Jesus will return to the earth, which will mark the end of this present world Acts 1:11. What is it about the last days for the believer? They are days of prayer and fasting Mat. 9:14-15; Mk. 2:18-20; Lk. 5:33-35. In essence, prayer and fasting are vital for the believer in the last days to experience the reality of the kingdom life. The question is why?
What makes Prayer and Fasting Vital for the Believer in the Last Days?
Revelation is also referred to as light, and it is the spiritual understanding of scripture that empowers the believer for correct application for delivery of desires result Jn. 1:4; Psa. 119:130. This is very relevant because we understand from scriptures that in the last days darkness will cover the earth Isa. 60:2; Joel 2:1-2. The authority of light over darkness in instant any time, any day; hence for the believer to walk in dominion in the last days he needs light or revelation Jn. 1:5. This is why the last days are the days of outbreak of revelation for the believer Jer. 31:33-34; Isa. 60:1-2. From scriptures, we understand that revelation is facilitated by prayer and fasting 2Cor. 4:4; Mat. 17:21; Isa. 58:6,8,10.
The last days will have darkness cover the earth Isa. 60:2; Joel 2:1-2. Darkness refers to the personality and operations of Satan and his agents. In essence, the last days will see the devil and his agents become more vile and wicked in their operation on the earth. The answer to this is the manifold wisdom of God, it is why God has ordained the last days for the release of His strange dimension of wisdom on the body of Christ to enable us walk in dominion Eph. 3:8-10. From scriptures, we understand that the wisdom from above is facilitated by prayer and fasting Jms. 1:5-7. We saw Daniel a man of prayer and fasting operate in the wisdom from above Dan. 10:1-12; 6:5,10; 2:6-13,14-19,46. Paul a man of prayer and fasting also operates in this wisdom from above 2Pet. 3:15; 2Cor. 11:27.
The Profitable Approach to Fasting?
It is not everyone that engages in prayer and fasting who comes out with the result of revelation and the manifold wisdom of God. This is because there are ways to approach prayer and fasting for it to deliver result, else it becomes a futile engagement Isa. 58:3; Ecc. 10:15. What are the approaches for profitable engagement?
Prayer is having audience with God, while fasting expedites this Mat. 6:6-9; Heb. 4:16. The scriptures show us that there are protocols to gain access for audience with God, fundamental in this is to come thanking, praising and worshipping Psa. 100:4. In essence, for our prayer and fasting to be effective and productive, we must come with a heart of thanksgiving, praise and worship.
Faith is the language of God, the only language he hears from man, and will command His response always Mat. 9:20-22; Mk. 2:5. In essence, when we approach the prayer altar, we must speak the faith language to be heard by God 1Jn. 5:14-15. This means that faith-filled prayer guarantees answer any time, any day Mat. 21:21-22; 17:20-21. What is faith? It is confidence in God based on what He says about Himself, and it has to be built by feeding on God’s word Rms. 4:18; 10:17.
Boldness is another vital protocol for audience with God in the place of prayer and fasting Heb. 4:16; Pro. 28:1. Boldness is the quality of not being afraid in the face of fear and intimidation. In essence, it is the ability to stand before God without fear, rather with confidence to place one’s demand. The scriptures show that it makes the believer to enjoy instant and great response from God in prayers.
When the advancement of God’s kingdom become our priority in prayer, we commit God to answer us with speed; not only for His kingdom that we asked, but also our personal needs we did not because He knows them Mat. 6:32-33. In essence, if our desire is to experience the God that answer by fire over our personal needs, we are to make His kingdom the focus of our prayers.
In conclusion, we serve the God who hears and answers prayers Mat. 21:22. He still answers the prayers of His children today, with physical evidences to show. When we begin to experience the prayer-answering God, we will begin to walk in dominion in life. YOU SHALL NEVER KNOW PRAYER FAILURE FROM TODAY!
