ENGAGING THE POWER OF JOY AND REJOICING PT. 2.

Memory verse:

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”

“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”

  • Php. 4:4-5.

The scriptures make it clear that redemption introduce the believer to the life of abundance Jn. 10:10. It is why the scriptures say that the moment the believer is born again, everything about the life of the believer becomes new 2Cor. 5:17. One principal requirement to experience life is joy and rejoicing; the lack of joy is a major reason many believer do not reflect the abundant life Joel 1:11-12.

Joy is not a gift that is imparted, but a fruit of the Spirit that has to be developed or cultivated Gal. 5:22-23. In essence, every believer that will be joyful and sustain joy in his life must know ‘how to’, and accept the responsibility for developing the joy of the Lord in his life. The understanding of the power of joy and rejoicing is essential for the believer to cultivate a life of joy and sustain it. This is the reason our teachings this week has its focus on the power of joy. Be blessed as we go through the study of today.

The Power of Joy.

  1. It is engenders a lifestyle of praise.

Scriptures make us to understand that whatever occupies the heart is what will be freely expressed outwardly in a man Pro. 23:7; Matt. 12:34. When the heart is filled will joy, this will be expressed spontaneously with praise on the outside Jms. 5:13. In essence, one cannot be joyful and not be praiseful. And praise is the trigger to the wonders of God Exo. 15:11. Therefore, joyfulness and rejoicing will make the believer to experience a life of wonders.

  • It is the covenant way out of every valley of life.

Scriptures make us to understand that joy will always invoke God into the situation of any man Psa. 16:11. With the presence of God, every opposition and limitation is cleared off, and the believer rises from obscurity and valley into limelight and the mountain top Hab. 3:17-19; Psa. 67:1-7.

For the believer to sustain his joy and rejoicing, he must beware of murmuring, complaining and grumbling. These will only make the believer’s life more complicated and destroys it ultimately. Whatever makes you to murmur is taken away now.
