Memory verse:

“And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves..”                                        – Mk. 11:17.

We have come to understand that believers are God’s building 1Cor. 3:9,16. This makes them a house of prayer, because every houses of God is ordained a house of prayer Mk. 11:17. This means prayer must become the breath of every believer 1Ths. 5:17. One thing that kills prayer life is self-centeredness. Prayer must be focused on God’s kingdom for it to be effective Mat. 6:9-10. The saints of old had this common trait of a life of kingdom advancement prayer, which resulted in their greatness.

Scriptural Example of Giants made through the Lifestyle of Prayer.

  1. Paul.

Paul was a threat to lives, a murderer and injurious individual. He met with Christ and emerged an apostle, a notable servant of God Rms. 1:1. One fundamental trait of Paul that made him an accredited God’s servant was being a great intercessor Gal.4:19; 1Ths. 5:17.

What Are We to Pray?

  1. For Fresh Revelation from our Pulpit.

Increase of the word of God will empower believers for effectiveness on the prayer altar Hos. 14:2; 1Jn. 5:14-15. This will result in supernatural church growth Mat. 24:28; Acts 6:7. Interestingly it takes prayer and fasting to command increasing revelation 2Ths. 3:1; Eph. 6:19.

When a believer commits to seeking first the advancement of the kingdom of God, he endears himself to God for favor Psa. 102:13-15; Mat. 6:33.
