Memory verse:
“And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves..” – Mk. 11:17.
The bible refers to God’s house, the church, as the house of prayer Lk. 19:46; Mk. 11:17. God’s house is not designed to be a place of mere religious activity, social gathering or human fellowship, but a house of prayer. This makes prayer to be the focus of what God’s house exist for. Believers being the temple of the Holy Ghost or God’s building is ordained a house of prayer 1Cor. 6:19-20. Saints of old who embraced the lifestyle of prayer emerged as giants in life.
Scriptural Example of Giants made through the Lifestyle of Prayer.
- Job.
Job was a businessman, who emerged as the greatest of his days Job 1:3. As a businessman, he was yet recognized as a renowned servant of God because he was given to a life of prayer Job 1:8; 42:10.
What Are We to Pray?
- For New Converts and New Members.
Our converts are expected to be established in the faith and the church for us to qualify for rewards Jn. 15:16. It is by prayer that we shut the door against the manipulation of the devil targeted at drawing them back from the faith Col. 4:12; Gal. 4:19; Lk. 11:24-26.
Prayer is one of the spiritual labors that is largely done in the secret place Psa. 91:1. The good news is that, God sees our labor of prayer in secret and has committed Himself to reward us openly Mat. 6:6-8.
Jesus is Lord!
Prayer.
Father, empower me by the Holy Spirit for tireless kingdom advancement prayer engagement from now Zch. 12:10.
Action.
Take individuals on your street to God on the prayer altar for their salvation.
Priestly Blessings.
I decree a Holy Invasion in all our streets that shall turn men to righteousness!
The Holy Spirit shall sweep across your neighborhood drafting people to God this week!
